Credit Unions are not-for-profit, and we could not function without the commitment and enthusiasm of volunteers.
Opportunities
Full training is provided for volunteers in all aspects of the credit union service. Experience in finance is not always necessary, but enthusiasm is essential. You can volunteer for whatever role you think would suit you best, such as:

- Board Member – elected by members to be responsible for the management and policies of the Credit Union
- Credit Committee Officer – makes decisions on loan applications
- Supervisory Committee Officer – responsible for internal audit of records and policies of the credit union
- Street team and promotion – assists with publicity, displays and leafleting
What is involved?
The amount of time a credit union volunteer gives depends entirely on the individual. It can vary from a couple of hours a fortnight to 3-4 hours a week. Anyone who is willing to help out is greatly appreciated.
